Child Protection & Family Resilience

Recognising concerns, acting in line with safeguarding procedures and connecting children to the right services.

Programme pillar

Helping children stay safe and supported

Children need to be safe in their homes, schools and communities. Risks may include neglect, violence, exploitation, discrimination, family instability or other circumstances that threaten safety and development.

ActionReach’s role is to recognise concerns, act in line with safeguarding procedures, and coordinate with the appropriate statutory or specialist services. We do not investigate or manage cases beyond our competence or legal mandate.

Areas of support

  • Recognising and responding appropriately to child-safety concerns.
  • Supporting safe access to statutory and specialist child-protection services.
  • Helping caregivers understand agreed next steps and available support.
  • Working with community actors to promote safer, more inclusive environments.
  • Identifying household-level barriers that undermine children’s wellbeing and connecting families with appropriate services where available.
  • Following safeguarding, confidentiality and mandatory reporting requirements applicable to the case.

Family resilience

Family resilience means strengthening the practical and relational conditions that help caregivers support children over time. It does not mean blaming families for poverty or barriers beyond their control. It means working respectfully with caregivers, identifying feasible actions and building stronger connections between families and support systems.

2026–2031 target: 10,000 children safe and thriving, with verified progress against agreed protection or family-resilience outcomes, by 30 June 2031. This is a target, not an achievement.

No single organisation can remove every barrier a child faces. If your organisation shares our commitment to every child’s dignity and rights, we would welcome a conversation.
