Getting children into school, attending and progressing

Education supports children’s development, participation and future opportunities. Yet children may be out of school, attend irregularly or struggle to progress because of costs, documentation, disability-related barriers, family circumstances, safety concerns or other practical challenges. ActionReach works with caregivers, schools and relevant actors to identify what is preventing participation and coordinate steps to address it.

Areas of support

  • Identifying children who are not enrolled, have stopped attending or face persistent attendance barriers.
  • Working with caregivers and schools to understand the reason and agree realistic actions.
  • Supporting navigation of enrolment and re-entry processes.
  • Helping identify inclusion barriers for children with disabilities and coordinating with relevant actors.
  • Following up to confirm enrolment or another agreed education outcome, rather than counting a referral alone.
  • Recognising that learning outcomes are influenced by many factors and should not be attributed to ActionReach without evidence.

Outcome orientation

Schools and education authorities are responsible for education services. ActionReach helps remove the practical barriers that keep a child from them and checks whether the agreed result occurred.

2026–2031 target: 8,000 children with verified progress towards being in school, attending and learning, with the relevant barrier addressed, by 30 June 2031. This is a target, not an achievement.

No single organisation can remove every barrier a child faces. If your organisation shares our commitment to every child’s dignity and rights, we would welcome a conversation.
