Our work

Disability inclusion

Children with disabilities have the same rights as every other child.

Cross-cutting commitment

The same rights as every other child

Children with disabilities have the same rights to recognition, safety, health, learning and participation as every other child. ActionReach’s early experience working through churches and community relationships highlighted how stigma, fear, limited information and inaccessible systems can leave children isolated at home.

We seek to identify exclusion, listen to children and caregivers, and work with relevant services to make access and participation more achievable.

How we work

  • Use respectful, rights-based language about disability.
  • Ask what barriers the child experiences instead of assuming what the child can or cannot do.
  • Consider accessibility and communication needs in engagement and information materials.
  • Include children with disabilities in programme monitoring and feedback where safe and appropriate.
  • Use images and stories only with informed consent and safeguarding review.

No single organisation can remove every barrier a child faces. If your organisation shares our commitment to every child’s dignity and rights, we would welcome a conversation.
