Responding when a child needs help now
Lifeline ensures that ActionReach’s commitment to children is not restricted to one entry point. A child may come to our attention because of illness, nutrition concerns, exclusion from school, disability-related barriers, family distress or a child-protection concern. Where appropriate, ActionReach helps establish the immediate issue, considers safety, and coordinates with the responsible provider or authority.
Lifeline prevents the model from becoming a barrier in itself. A child facing an urgent health or protection concern must not be asked to complete birth registration before appropriate action is taken.

How Lifeline works
- Listen to the child and caregiver in a safe, respectful and age-appropriate way.
- Identify whether immediate action or specialist support is needed.
- Follow approved safeguarding and escalation procedures.
- Coordinate with the responsible provider, school, public service or statutory actor.
- Keep birth-registration support on the plan where relevant, without making it a precondition for urgent help.
- Document what action was taken, what remains outstanding and how follow-up will occur.
What Lifeline is, and is not
Lifeline operates within ActionReach’s actual staffing, funding, safeguarding protocols and referral and coordination arrangements. It is a route into coordinated support, not a 24-hour emergency service. If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police or the nearest emergency services.

No single organisation can remove every barrier a child faces. If your organisation shares our commitment to every child’s dignity and rights, we would welcome a conversation.
